Weeds, War, Capitalism and Artistic Collaboration: a craft talk

In my talk for the Glasgow School of Art, there was little war but much on weeds and plants — and “lichen time” a time outside human time. Plus, using the lyric form to write against narrative time, which is chronological time (inscribed with capitalism and conquering). And, finding other metaphors in nature – like lichen, which are a cooperative organism formed of algae and fungi. Instead of the competition for resources we’re told exists in nature, I want metaphors that help us envision an anti-capitalist world. Also included: some herbalism, wild lettuce (opium lettuce), and how collaborating with artists helped me, the literalist, break away from chrono narrative and fiction…
