Double Dutch – Lynne Hershman Leeson’s doubles, avatars and antibodies in Frieze

I met Lynne Hershman two days before my mother died. She showed me a very, very small Yves Klein. The sky was blue, the painting blue and Lynne’s work has been profound for me. Her ways of playing games, setting up games, using doubles and technology… all of these ask questions I find urgen about us and the world. So, in this moment now of loss and death, I speak to her again looking to understand something of making art in this time, of needing to understand the world.
