Scribe, consultant and curator. I’m interested in the stories behind things. These tales make something compelling whether it’s a company or a product. In the pursuit of these I’ve worked for everyone from Johnnie Walker to Nike, Apple, Sony, Motorola and more.
Ever know that before Bill Bowerman made the Waffle sole with wife’s waffle iron he tried her jewelry? (You have to hope it was costume jewelry). Or what about that Nike Air was originally meant to make a comfortable ski boot? The engineer behind it, Frank Rudy, wanted his wife to ski with him more. And, Johnnie Walker was a poor tenant farmer despite his fancy outfit as a regency dandy in the ads… These are just some of the stories I’ve uncovered in my corporate work where pinups or sprint spikes have both come under my purview.
